General Santos City may be the point of entry (by air and sea) into South Central Mindanao, but when going further inland into South Cotabato province, the main urban center there is its capital city of Koronadal. Situated at the northern border of South Cotabato with Sultan Kudarat province, it serves pretty much as a land gateway to and from further into Mindanao. As a provincial capital and administrative center of Region XII, Koronadal has been a regular venue of national events and competitions (mainly sports as in the Palarong Pambansa), and more recently become the next stop of businessmen as well as national and international tourists arriving by way of GenSan.

All these people coming in all year round mean a thriving hotel and accommodation industry in Koronadal. And foremost among these is the city’s great pride when it comes to star-class hospitality: the FB Hotel and Convention Center. Located along Alunan Avenue, this four-story prime hotel is the new go-to place to stay in Koronadal City for either business or pleasure. Not for nothing does the FB Hotel and Convention Center present itself to be the main star in accommodation while in Koronadal. The businessmen, tourists and even national celebrities that have stayed with them with increasing regularity are a testament to the classy quality of FB Hotel.

The façade of the hotel is already impressive enough, one of the most iconic examples of architectural aesthetics in Koronadal City. The interior is bound to take the breath away from anyone visiting the FB Hotel and Convention Center for the first time. The lobby already is a marvel, with a curving staircase accented with a brightly lit chandelier from the ceiling, while the foot of the steps has a touch of local cultural pride with a display of South Cotabato decorative motifs.

Soft lights illuminate everything, from the 24-hour manned front desk, to the lobby lounge, the hallways, and most especially its grand ballroom area, perfect for big birthday bashes and press conferences. The atmosphere is altogether welcoming, as is the hotel staff assisting guests to their rooms. Such is the FB Hotel and Convention Center’s dedication to giving their guests just the appropriate amount of comfortable space that they’ve got a wide variety of room accommodations.

Their Superior Rooms have no less than four variations catering from single occupancy up to a party of four (Superior, Twin, Triple and Quad). Depending on the size they are furnished with either single or twin beds enough for the right number of occupants. Deluxe Rooms offer more space for one or two guests. And as a magnanimously compassionate gesture, FB Hotel also has specially designed rooms for PWD guests.

Finally there are the FB Hotel’s Suite-level rooms. They range in size and amenities from Executive, to Family (max 6 guests), and even their ultimate offering of a Presidential Suite. This last accommodation is not only handsomely furnished for absolute comfort befitting a President, it also provides some Presidential-level max security thanks to genuine bulletproof glass and extra reinforced construction.

Count on FB Hotel and Convention Center to be prepared for all eventualities with their guests. And the creature comforts are no slouch either. Air conditioning is expected and so are hot and cold water. They also have LCD flat-screen TVs with cable channel access. Then we go to the real bonuses like free complimentary Wi-Fi in all rooms, PABX phones with NDD/IDD, hypo-allergenic pillows and sheets, and UV-protected window tints, among others.

The FB Hotel and Convention Center won’t be the most-visited hotel in Koronadal today comfortable rooms are all they have to offer. They also have extra facilities to make guests feel right at home. There’s a restaurant with options for room service, a well-equipped fitness center, a hybrid bar/lounge right next to the hotel’s indoor swimming pool, and safety deposit boxes for valuable items. Guests who need online connections are covered by even more free Wi-Fi in all of the complex’s public areas.

And they’re just getting started; FB Hotel and Convention Center also prides themselves as a prime venue for special events involving lots of people. We’ve already touched on their grand ballroom earlier, but aside from that they also have no less than two more function-rooms that are just the ticket for much smaller and private gatherings. Businessmen looking to have a truly executive-level location for priority meetings will be most pleased with the well-appointed Board Room.

From stellar accommodations with essential facilities, to available special events venues for work, parties and everything in between, it’s no wonder that the FB Hotel and Convention Center has become the darling of Koronadal City’s hospitality scene. If you happen to be headed that way in the near future, then ponder at your choices no longer and head on straight for Alunan Avenue, where the FB Hotel and Convention Center is waiting to give you a memorable stay.
